The Spelling Rule
Adding -ES is the second English plural rule and is used when nouns end in CH, SH, Z, S or X. When we add -ES, it changes the meaning from one to more than one. This rule also applies to verbs ending in S, X, SH, CH or Z to make them third person verbs for he, she, and it. Don't apply this spelling rule if the CH is making a 'k" sound. This plural rule applies to many nouns but remember there are 7 plural rules in total, so keep learning them all.
